The Mission, only located a few blocks from this building, has been gaining popularity over the past 5 years. The district has a quality art scene, a plethora of restaurants and means of public transportation. Notable restaurants and places in the Mission include: Balmy Street Murals, Philz Coffee, CREAM and La Taqueria.
The Castro was originally constructed around 1887 and was one of the first LGBT communities in the United States. The district spans across Market Street and south towards Noe Valley. Throughout the day and night, the Castro remains alive through its various night clubs and 24hr restaurants and eateries.
Recently reopened from renovation, Dolores Park is one of the busiest parks in San Francisco. The park stretches out over 16 acres, and some of it’s facilities include a new public bathroom, six tennis courts, one basketball court, and two play structures to name a few. The park is located only a block away from this building, and has a J-Church stop on the West side of the park
